The creek tribe

This is the flag of the Creeki tribe. This tribe has traveled from place to place many times. This was because of there many battles in war. I will get into those details in my next paragraph.

In the 1600s this tribe had lost battles in war many times. They had first settled in weast Alabama to Oklahoma and they finally settled in Georgia which is were the tribe is today. Before the 1600 the creek had controlled almost all of Georgia. At that time the Cherokee began to pressure them to move land. A battle accoured in the late 1600s. After the battle the Creeks reatred roughly through the Etowah River.

A later battle in Cherokee country forced the Creeks south ofto the Chattahooche and flint Rivers. West of the Coosa river ( mostly in alabama ). In November 1783 two minor chiefs Talassee and cuseta ceded the Creeks between the Tugallo and Apalachee Rivers. After the session relation between Georgia and the creek nation worsened on April 2 ,1786.

Later in the creek tribe history there was a princess. They had to obey here every comand. The princess had told them that they will please the gods by doing good deads in life such as. To love the sacred circle of the family. To be clean in body and in pure heart. To share understandings with father. To listen will others speak. To seek and preserve the beauty of the great spirits work in forest field and stream.

The creeks belived that nature was a gift from the great spirits> The great spirits were also there gods. The Creeks were polytheis. Some of the great spirits they belived were there ancestors. They still belive thet today. Thay had passed in these belives to there children and grand children. When they deaded it was still poassed on as storys. It is still a tradition in the creeks today.

The creeks today do a rain dance. It is one way of pleasing the great spirits. The dance must be done in the forest. The forest is a gift from the great spirts. They muear 6 lairs of clothing. they put on mak-up to not revel them selevs. If they do the great spirits will not be pleased.
